A Visit to the District of Cheshire and the Marches

Due to the suspension of Masonic activity the Annual Meeting of the District Grand Council of Cheshire and the Marches was held as a Virtual Business Meeting on Saturday 29th May 2021. Attending was the Grand Master, M.Ill.Comp. Kessick John Jones, the Assistant Grand Recorder, Ill.Comp. Dan Heath, and Companions from many other Districts. A total of 75 Companions joined the meeting.

A Visit to the Cheshire and the Marches The District Grand Master for the District of Cheshire and the Marches, R.Ill.Comp. Bryan Hughes, declared the meeting open and welcomed all present. The District Grand Recorder, Ill.Comp. Peter Sims, read the permission to hold a Virtual Business Meeting.

A Visit to the Cheshire and the Marches The Minutes of the District Grand Council Meeting held on Saturday 24th October 2020 were approved by the Companions. After the regular business of the District was completed, the District Grand Council Officers for the ensuing year were appointed.

The Grand Master, M.Ill.Comp. Kessick Jones, briefly addressed the meeting. He expressed his thanks for the invitation to the meeting and spoke about our ability to accept and adapt to change. An example of this was the use of the Zoom video conferencing tool which has been put to good use by those in the Orders administered by Mark Masons Hall. It was good to see so many attending from other Districts as well as from other Orders within the District. He congratulated those District Officers appointed today as well as those he would have invested in person at Grand Council in April.

A Visit to the Cheshire and the Marches The District Grand Master addressed District Grand Council. He congratulated those Companions he had appointed today and said how much he was looking forward to being with everyone again. He said it was now 5 months since being appointed as District Grand Master and he is looking forward to the challenges of recommencing our Freemasonry. Most Councils have ceremonies in hand as well as Candidates to be Chosen. He thanked all his team for their hard work in setting up and running this Virtual Business Meeting.

A Visit to the Cheshire and the Marches He then thanked everyone for attending and declared the meeting closed. Afterwards the guests all said how much they had enjoyed the meeting and wished the District of Cheshire and the Marches every success in the future.
