St Christopher's Hospice Fun Walk

On Sunday 19th May Tony Laird, a member of Pride of Surrey Council, accompanied by his nieces Kyla and Kiowa, undertook the Fun Walk starting from Keston Common in support of St. Christopher’s Hospice and in memory of his mother Mary.

St Christopher's Hospice Fun Walk The weather was really nice for walking, although ambling might describe it better, and some refreshment was enjoyed on our return. A great day, lots of participation by a number of organisations who supplied entertainment, catering, buses, water, etc., with much friendly banter on the way round. We were pleased to have raised £1250.50 plus some Gift Aid (about £200 if my calculations are correct).

This fund-raising event happens every other year and this was Tony’s 5th time. It was his nieces first, but both said they look forward to doing it again in 2021.

I would like to thank our District Grand Master, the Pride of Surrey Council, and everyone else for their generous contributions which enabled us to put £1,250.50 towards the sum total of £162,673 raised on the day. We couldn't have done it without you.
