Visit to the District Grand Council of Sussex

In November a number of Surrey Companions attended the Annual Meeting of the District Grand Council of Sussex held at the Charmandean Centre in Worthing.

Visit to the District Grand Council of Sussex The delegation from Surrey included the District Grand Master, R.Ill. Comp. David Blackburn, and the District Grand Recorder, Comp. Terry Carpenter. Also present were R.Ill. Comp. Michael Barnes, V.Ill.Comp. Louis Keats, and Ill. Comps. Richard Baker, Nigel Harding and Chris Eley.

The meeting was opened by the District Grand Master, Right Illustrious Companion, Bernard Marchant, who welcomed the many guests and visitors. The R.Ill. District Grand Master re-appointed Ill.Comp. Glen Coneley as Deputy District Grand Master and Ill.Comp. Kevin Gillespie as Principal Conductor of the Works. The R.Ill. District Grand Master then appointed and invested the District Grand Officers for 2018-2019. After investing his Officers he addressed District Grand Council. District Grand Council was then closed in due form.

After the meeting the Companions of the Province of Sussex and their guests sat down to a splendid meal in the dining room of the Charmandean Centre.
